Skill-Net Frequently Asked Questions
Q: I am interested in finding a more challenging and
hopefully higher paying position. What do I need to do to be included in the Skill-net database?
A: Simply register with the nearest job service office. Within 24 hours your
information will automatically appear on Skill-net.
Q: I am having problems using the Skill-Net form search page.
Why would I not able to enter my search criteria?
A: This A depends on which WWW viewer software you are using to surf the Web. Some
viewers require the user to "click" on a field before being allowed to type anything.
Other "text oriented" viewers are not designed to support forms.
Q: My arrow key will not always advance to statements which
indicate "click here". Is this normal?
A: No, this is not normal. It’s likely your viewer software is having trouble
interpreting these "hot-spots". This is most likely caused by a gliche during
transfer of that page. Try backing up and going to that page again or reload the
page if your viewer has a reload option.
Q: There are dates indicated at the top of some forms.
Example: Last updated December 30,1994. Why is this information so old?
A: The notation "Last Updated xxxx", only refers to the last time that page was
modified (ie. format, content, style, etc..). It does not refer to the age of
the job seeker information.
Q: What do "See RJ screen" or "See Notes" mean?
A: Please disregard these terms.
Q: Can I access the information using Telnet or FTP?
A: No.
