Agricultural Employment Service

Agricultural employers and job seekers can both benefit from ESC services. A network of agricultural employment consultants (AECs) across the state provide support in placing farm workers on jobs and assisting the agricultural employer in filling vacancies. The AECs also help employers with the sometimes confusing farm-related regulations. In addition, the AECs ensure that migrant and seasonal farm workers are provided the same or comparable ESC services as the general public.

Here are some of the ways ESC's agricultural employment service can help:

  • Solicit and fill job orders for agricultural employers
  • Place farm workers on jobs
  • Disseminate information on farm-related rules and regulations
  • Register farm labor contractors
  • Conduct prevailing wage and practice surveys
  • Provide consultant inspections of migrant housing
  • Refer migrant and seasonal farm workers to various supportive services
  • Refer complaints to proper enforcement agencies
  • Coordinate services with other service agencies
  • Gather information on crop conditions and labor supply

For more information on how ESC can help you, contact Agricultural Employment Services Supervisor at 919-733-3210 or the Agricultural Employment Consultant that serves your county.
