Please be advised that due to the recent decline in North Carolina’s Unemployment Rate, DES cannot pay Extended Benefits (EB) for claim weeks later than May 12, 2012.
Due to the end of Extended Benefits (EB) program in North Carolina, EUC Tier 4 is the final entitlement available.
North Carolina DES Unemployment Extension Programs
December 23, 2012 is the latest effective date for new EUC Tier 1 claims. No EUC payments can be made for any weeks ending after December 29, 2012.

The EB program is subject to labor market conditions in our state, which determines our eligibility. This program is not in effect for weeks after May 12, 2012.
Forms & Notices
If your EUC08 or EB benefits roll over from your regular UI claim, your payments will be made in the same manner. For example, if you are being paid by Direct Deposit, your payments will continue by that method when your claim rolls over to the extension.
