UI Activities 2008
The Survey of Unemployment Insurance Activities is a compilation of selected unemployment insurance-related data that are made available as a result of the required federal/state reporting systems. The inclusion or noninclusion of data in this publication is not intended to imply the relative importance of any one program. This annual publication consolidates some of the most requested unemployment insurance data.

The federal/state reporting systems generate impartial, objective, verified and reliable information on a wide variety of unemployment insurance-related program activities. These data are necessary in measuring the interrelationships, impacts and effects on different programs that result from changes in law, revised reporting, definition changes and workload fluctuations. These base data are used in the mechanisms and processes through which formal evaluation is achieved. This information, by sheer force of its authority and weight, can lead to program improvements by rationalizing decision making.
