About ESC

ESC Divisions

The Employment Service Division seeks to fill job openings with occupationally qualified workers, and to locate for the worker a job suited to his or her skills, knowledge and abilities. The Employment Service also provides technical assistance to employers on a variety of issues related to day to day personnel matters.

The Unemployment Insurance Division provides temporary income protection to workers with coverage under the Unemployment Insurance program during periods of involuntary unemployment. Employers share the cost of this insurance through payroll taxes collected by the commission.

The Labor Market Information Division collects, organizes and disseminates information about the operation of the labor market such as data on job opportunities, availability of workers, and long range trends in employment. This information is valuable to workers, employers, economists, educators and others.
